Been there: cords crawling, drawers that stick. This left return from Lorell slots next to a single pedestal to form an L or U and it is not freestanding, so plan the layout. The top is just over one inch thick and finished in Gray Elm thermally fused melamine that resists marks, burns and impacts and keeps the surface looking clean. Inside the three quarters pedestal you get a locking box drawer plus a file drawer with included hangrails for letter or legal files. Drawers ride on full suspension, one-hundred-pound ball bearings. A grommet and adjustable glides tidy cords and keep the return level on uneven floors.
